I’m convinced life is substantially better when we surrender to a higher calling within us. God has put this on my heart over and over, yet admittedly I haven’t always been able or willing to listen. Let me start with a bit of background. I think most of my friends, family, colleagues and clients would all consider me a “Type-A” successful sales professional in my mid-thirties. I’ve experienced plenty of pain and failure throughout my life, which I’ll inevitably share more details around over time. I’ve also experienced many successes over the years, both in business and personally. Over the coming months, or perhaps even years, my plan is to commit myself to surrendering to God’s purpose for my life. I want to experience what happens if I give up my perceived control, and instead surrender to His plan for my future. I truly believe with all my heart that we can experience a more open, authentic, aware, fulfilling and spiritually connected life if we get out of our own way. I believe God is calling me to share my experience with others who are willing to listen, and perhaps even take a journey for themselves. Here’s my action step: I am making a commitment to say a prayer of complete surrender (above) every single day. I am also going to intentionally spend more time pausing to HEAR/FEEL His response. I believe this will lead me on the journey God intended for my life, and this site will chronicle each step of the way. I promise to share my true feelings throughout this journey. I will share things I learn and any spiritual awakenings I experience. I will also share some hardships if/when they come. I also plan to interview and discuss life with others who are on their own spiritual journeys to enhance this project and get others’ perspectives. I look forward to this surrender project and pray others will take this journey with me.
